Toy Box: A Great Place to Keep All the Toys

oy Boxes have been around as long as there have been toys. Toy boxes were created out the need to have a functional container to store a child's toys in. A place was needed to organize and store toys in to keep them neatly tucked away and out of harms way.

Earlier toy boxes were really just wooden crates or boxes that were rectangular or square in shape. A toy box today can come in all shapes, sizes, and colors although most are still a rectangular shape. A toy box can be made of wood, plastic or material. It can be made of any style or design. It can double as a piece of furniture like a bench where a child can sit and read a book. The lid of the toy box can provide a flat surface where they can place a game board or make their favorite projects.

A toy box can be simple in design with only one color or it can have your child's favorite television character painted on it. They can also be hand painted family heirlooms. Any type of container that stores children's toys can be considered a toy box. Since toy boxes are made for little people they are usually very sturdy and made of good quality. They can vary greatly in price depending on the style and material they are made of. Some toy boxes are made so they can be stackable and store easily and some are made to be part of a room's design.

Nothing lights up a child's face brighter than walking into a room and spotting a toy box, they just love to dig inside and explore all the different treasures a toy box can hold. Of course getting them to put all the toys back inside they toy box once they are done playing with them can sometimes prose a challenge. There are some preventative measures you can take to make this less of a problem.

First of all, you can do everything in your power to make the toy box special. One idea is to give it as a Christmas present. Wrap some presents up and put them inside the box. Then, wrap up the box and put it under the Christmas tree. Your child will love opening the box and finding the presents, and then opening each one. You can prompt the child to put the toys into the toy box until all the wrapping paper is disposed of so that they will not be thrown away. The child will see the logic of that.

Another way to make a toy box special is to take your child on a shopping trip to buy the toy box of their dreams. Go through catalogs or go online with your child to get ideas before you actually do your shopping. Even small children like to have a say in the decoration of their rooms. They are more likely to keep them clean when they have pride in the part they played putting it together. A toy box can be a happy addition to a child's world. by Ray Subs.

Anime and Manga - History Of

The History of Manga starts in the 19th Century. A common misconception made by Westerners is that the term 'manga' simply refers to anime and animated projects. While this is true to a certain extent, the word manga itself actually means 'Comic'.

The first manga appeared early in the 19th Century - in 1814. This was called the Hokusai manga, and consisted of a series of sketchbooks by a Japanese artist named Hokusai. Each sketch in the Hokusai manga is based on various topics including gods, monsters, mountains, flowers, and birds - the sketches were loosely if not at all related to each other.

It is important to remember that at that stage, the images in the Hokusai manga weren't representative of the manga we see today. The Hokusai manga style was that of sketchings, and it wasn't until later, when the influence of the western world set in, that we began to see the drawing style we see in manga today. This was known as Ponchi-e - when Japanese artists began to concentrate on effectively using thick lines, colours, and forms. The era of Ponchi-e also went hand in hand with animated films, and in the 20th Century we saw the first emergence of manga animation - today commonly known as 'anime'.

Animation quickly became very popular in Japan due to the under-developed 'live action' entertainment industry it had at the time. The 1980's saw a boom in production of anime, as mainstream Japan began accepting it more and more readily. In the 1990's and 2000's Japan's anime influence spread overseas, and currently there are anime series' that broadcast almost on a global scale. An example of this is the ever popular Dragon Ball Z anime, which broadcasts all over America, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Europe.

Today, we see western countries like America becoming more and more enravelled in the jap-anime style of drawing. Safe is it to assume that anime will live on, and the background and history, of anime and manga will spread and diversify due to exposure from western cultures, and the more advanced animation technologies we have today. by Virgilio Vallecera.

Naruto as an Anime

Naruto is an anime and manga sequence created by Masashi Kishimoto rooted around a loud, hyperactive, young ninja who is in a constant searching for both approval and recognition, and with a great goal to become Hokage. First published as a manga series in Japan by Shueisha in the 43rd issue of Shonen Jump magazine in November 1999, the Naruto sequence has risen in popularity exponentially and has since been licensed in the USA (becoming VIZ Media's top selling title) and nearly two dozen other countries, with the anime series by now airing in 18 countries.

Twelve decades before the start of the series, a Kyuubi (nine-tailed fox demon) attacked the Hidden Leaf Village. A swing of one of it's mighty tails could raise tsunamis and flatten mountains, chaos reigned throughout the village as it killed many people, until the leader of the Leaf, the Fourth Hokage, defeated it by sacrificing his own livlihood to seal the demon inside a new born child, that child is Uzumaki Naruto.

The Fourth Hokage would forever be celebrated as a hero for sealing the Kyuubi and saving the entire village. It was his wish that Naruto would additionally be respected in the same way he would be, however, the current was not the case. Everybody in the village avoided Naruto, regarding him as nothing more as opposed to the evil demon fox. The Third Hokage made it a rule within the village that further villagers got forbidden for mentioning this event to anyone, even this own children, but because of the way their parents treated Naruto, they mistreated him as well across most of his childhood. by Virgilio vallecera.

Toys that Girls Like

Girls' toys usually look sweet and cuddly and cute. Girls like dolls and doll houses and doll clothes. Usually, girls play house with their dolls, pretending they are the sister or the mother and their dolls are their sisters or their daughters. They love to play dress up. They choose clothes for their dolls for different occasions, just like what real women do. Each girl had probably experienced owning a Barbie or at least playing with it. They also have baby dolls. These kinds of toys show girls' maternal instincts.

Girls also like playing with their doll houses. They decorate their doll houses with mini furniture and mini appliances. And this is where their dolls usually 'live'.

Girls like role-playing games. However, when they do role-playing games, it is usually much more realistic compared to boys. For girls, they will just act out events in everyday lives like in a house or school, compared to boys, who usually pretend to be superheroes with supernatural powers or astronauts who will travel through the space.

Other interesting girls' toys are cash register toys and play money where they can pretend to be cashiers or shoppers in a grocery or convenience store. They also like playing with cooking toys and pretending that they are cooking their own food.

Aside from human dolls, they also like playing with stuffed dolls like stuffed animals that are usually in pastel or pale colors. They also like dolls of popular cartoon characters like Dora, Strawberry Shortcake, Hello Kitty and other female characters.

Girls also like toys that imitate domestic items such as stoves, washing machine, cooking items, groceries, dishes and other household objects. This shows the domestic side of girls. Women are generally more inclined to do domestic chores than males.

Doctor's or nurses' kits with toy stethoscope, thermometer, or medicines are other popular toys for girls. They like having 'patients' or someone to take care of. Girls also like grooming and primping themselves and their dolls. Again, this shows the nurturing side of girls.

They usually own toy grooming kits with combs, mirrors, toy make ups and beauty products, scrunchies, clips and hair pins, and other fake beauty paraphernalia. They like grooming and primping themselves and also their dolls. Girls also like having toy jewelleries, accessories, plastic shoes, and costumes for fairies or princesses.

For music-related toys, girls usually have violins. This instrument is usually considered as a feminine instrument. Girls also like arts and crafts toys like scrapbooking materials, bead crafts, jewellery making materials, fashion crafts, and sewing and knitting materials. Some girls also like painting and drawing.

Girls' toys usually enhance physical attractiveness, creativity, domestic skills, and nurturance.

When playing, girls also tend to play inside because they do not want to get dirty or get bruises or scratches on their bodies. They always want to look and smell nice. Furthermore, their can usually play by themselves with their dolls as their playmates. Because of this, aggressiveness and competitiveness are not well-developed among girls. by Gen Wright.

American Toys: Past and Present

American toys have been around for as long as we can remember. In the beginning American toys were simple items such as balls, dolls, cars and trucks and believe it or not these American toys are still around today. When you think American toys; Barbie, matchbox cars, Legos and GI Joes instantly come to mind. If you purchased one of these items when they first hit the market and kept them in good condition they are very valuable today. When you think about American toy manufacturers Playschool and Mattel are at the top of the list. These companies have been around for a very long time and many people grew up playing with them, they have produced one great toy after another and still continue to do so.

American toys have evolved with time just like everything else in this amazing world. They have to be of interest to kids today in this high tech world. You can now send Barbie on amazing adventures through your computer, or play fashion designers with her many outfits. Her family has expanded and now includes friends, siblings and pets.

Matchbox cars has also created an online presence, they have changed the design of there vehicles to offer some really far out cars and trucks. Cool racing vehicles and vintage automobiles are always going to be popular. GI Joe is now nearly extinct which probably makes him one of the most valuable American toys you can own. Legos now have cool themes like pirate, knights in shining armor or sci-fi creatures.

Although these classic American toys are still available many more have been added to the list. Step inside any American home with children and you will find Legos, video games and plenty of high tech toys to amuse your child for hours. Some children even have there own computer. Many American toys are modeled after characters on popular televisions shows like Barney and Dora the Explorer. These characters often come and go and the more popular ones become collectors' items, like GI Joe and Barbie.

If you want to have a special toy that you will keep as a collector's item, the best idea is to keep it in its original wrapper. That will usually make it more valuable. Yet the real fun of American toys is that children love to play with them and use them to the fullest extent. To handle this, you can get one toy for collecting and an identical one for play. Another option is to get great, sturdy American toys that will hold up to any kind of use your children dish out.

There certainly has been a wide variety in children's toys, both in the past and in the present. Children enjoy playing make believe from an early age, and continue to do so long after they are sometimes willing to admit. In fact, some parents even have been known to get on the floor and play with Tonka trucks or baby dolls with their children. It often appears that they are having as much fun as their children. That is one way American toys are a part of a happy family. by Ray Subs.

Animation And Game Design Going To The Movies

Animation and game design have, for the most part, fallen into two categories in the past. You either worked on animation for children's movies or you focused on animation for video games. Today, however, many young animators are realizing that their opportunities are becoming much more diverse as the movie graphic novel and video gaming industries have begun to overlap.

Merging of Media Today more and more video games are becoming movies. Successes in the last decade include Doom, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Tomb Raider. All of these movies were based on popular video games that had been created by animation and gaming professionals. The movie directors discovered that, in order to maintain the look and feel of the games, they had to get to know these games inside and out. They often called on game design experts as consultants to help them achieve this. There are few people as loyal as gaming enthusiasts, so capturing the proper look and feel was essential to the success of these films.

Graphic novels, a writing genre known for its highly graphic illustrative style, have also spawned movies recently. The two most notable are Sin City and 300, both based on violent, action-packed graphic novels. In both instances, the movies were directed with actors but relied heavily on computer graphics, computer design and, in some instances, animation, to enhance particular scenes and enrich the details. The success of these two movies in turn created video games based on the movies (which were based on graphic novels)...are you seeing the pattern now? Anyone with animation and game design credentials these days can go into a wide range of fields, not just game design. When the genres overlap, so do job opportunities.

Where the Talent Lies - Animation and Game Design Hollywood is also producing more animated movies that ever before for family consumption. Cars, A Bug's Life, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Happy Feet, and the list goes on. Disney Studios continue to produce the traditional "princess" movies, but a dozen other studios also produce quality animation.

While a generation ago animation was done using thousands of artist's sketches put together to create action, today's animated movies are created with computer animation, and individuals with Animation and Game Design degrees are hot properties. Studios know that those with game design experience have an understanding of the complexities of movement, from the way the wind ruffles your hair to how someone lands when they fall, that no one else can match. Gamers are tough customers. They expect realism and accuracy and they get it. This has translated into increasing attention to detail in animated films. The more sophisticated the audience becomes, the more these industries have to work at giving the public what it wants.

The Future of Animation and Game Design With the growing overlap of so many genres of entertainment, graphic novels, movies and video games, it is obvious that the need for professionals with both animation and game design skills will only increase. Whether you want to work in Silicon Valley or Hollywood, a degree in some kind of animation and game design area will get your foot in the door. by Andy West.

10 Most Lovable Animation Movies

Animation is the speedy display of a series of images of 2-D artwork in order to create an illusion of movement. One of the most common ways of presenting animation is a motion picture or video program, although several other forms of presenting animation also exist. Because of the highly entertaining value it has, animation has been used in films as it has the capacity to attract an audience of various age groups, from 8 to 80.

The use of animation in films probably began in the year 1890. J. Stuart Blackton was the first man who put animation in his film titled 'Humorous Phases of Funny Faces'. The film featured a cartoonist drawing faces on a chalkboard, and the faces actually coming to life. After that many filmmakers and producers started using various animations in their films that apparently brought life to their pictures.

Soon, the stage came where the audience gradually got the chance to see films or movies where each and every character was animated. Those are full fledged animated movies. If we take a look at the list of the block bluster movies, we will be surprised to find that animation movies are equally contributing to this list.

Movies like The Lion King, Shrek, Monsters, Toy Story, Aladdin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Ice Age, Tarzan, A Bug's Life, etc. are considered as the top 10 animated movies both by the viewers and critics. Giant entertainment companies like Walt Disney, Pixar, Fox Entertainment, Dream Works, etc. have invested millions of dollars behind these animated movies and their profit was also up to the expectation.

The Lion King produced by Walt Disney Feature Production is one of the most thought provoking animated movies. It was originally titled the King of the Jungle. In order to achieve perfection the animators who worked on this movie studied the activities and the movements of real life animals too. In fact the filmmakers were such perfectionists that they went to Kenya to study the natural habitat that is used as a background in the film. The film featured green grass, the smoke from the fire, and the waterfall, all presented in perfect animation. The characters were built using 3D computer programmes that looked perfect.

Shrek is based upon a fairy tale picture produced by Dream Works. Though the film is meant for children, the theme has also attracted adults. The plot of the movie is simple and humorous. In fact this movie became so popular that computer games were made on Shrek.

Aladdin, the animated film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation, is based on the story of Aladdin and the magic lamp of Arabian Nights. The character of Aladdin was drawn by keeping in mind the faces of various Hollywood heroes and at the end it was decided that he would look like Tom Cruise. Special computer animations were used to develop some scenes of the movie. Some such instances are the full view of the palace, the magic carpet, the breaking up of the cave, etc.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, produced in 1937 by Walt Disney, is considered as one of the first commercially successful animation films. The film is a pioneer in many ways. It took three years to make this film because at that time the animations were not developed. They used many techniques that were in the primary stage of development at that time. They used animations to create rain, lightning, water, reflections, sparkles, magic, etc.

Toy Story, produced by Pixar Animation Studio is an animated movie that is fully created on computer. The story revolves around the toys of a nine year old boy and the story of the film is told from the toy's point of view.

A Bug's Life, again produced by Pixar Animation Studio and released in 1998, tells the tale of ants which think that they are warrior bugs and they have the courage to fight with the greedy grasshoppers. John Lasseter directed it. The story is based on the famous Aesop's fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper.

One can see that most of the animation movies are meant for children. But elders also equally enjoy these because these animation movies have various layers of meaning. With the rapid developments in various animated software, one can surely expect a solid future in producing animation films. by Victor Epand.
